瓊花 = 曇花 ?
在越南，通常叫一位朋友都只叫一個字。以往我也認為只記一個字比較簡單。結果現在發現他們很多普遍的名子，只有一個字重複性很高，例如我已經認識三個 Tung (松), 兩個 Linh 了。所以我現在都得問全名，而且是完整的越南字(正確的字母跟音標)。因為大部分的名字都還是漢越字，如果能轉回漢字，那就更容易記憶。由於越南字變成拼音之後，只剩下讀音，所以一定要跟對方確定名字的意思，以免選錯了字。

今天知道一位越南朋友叫做 Nguyễn Ngọc Quỳnh，翻成中文是阮玉瓊。玉瓊是一個卷髮女孩子，今年大三，喜歡海勝過於山….。因為我只知道這個【瓊】是美玉的意思，但他說是一種花。我一查才知道有所謂【瓊花】:

學名：拉丁語名字：Viburnum macrocephalum Fort. var. macrocephalum f. keteleeri (Carr.) Rehd.
英名：Wild Chinese Viburnum
別名：木繡球、聚八仙花、蝴蝶花 、牛耳抱珠
半常綠灌木。枝廣展，樹冠呈球形。葉對生，卵形或橢圓形，邊緣有細齒，背面疏生星狀毛。花序周圍是白色大型的不孕花，中部是可孕花。核果橢圓形，先紅後果。花期4月。果期10月-11月。
瓊花，又稱聚八仙、蝴蝶花。忍冬科落葉或半常綠灌木。4、5月間開花，花大如盤，潔白如玉。聚傘花序生於枝端，周邊八朵為萼片發育成的不孕花，中間為兩性小花。分佈在四川、甘肅、江蘇、河南，山東以南等地。
瓊花為揚州市花。自古有“維揚一株花，四海無同類”的美譽。瓊花是我國特有的名花,文獻記載唐朝就有栽培.
它以淡雅的風姿和獨特的風韻，以及種種富有傳奇浪漫色彩的傳說和逸聞逸事，博得了世人的厚愛和文人墨客的不絕讚賞，被稱為稀世的奇花異卉和“中國獨特的仙花”
但是對方卻傳來【曇花】的圖片連結。這是怎麼一回事?
曇花應該叫做 **hoa đàm，**結果搜尋出來也跟 Hoa quỳnh 一樣，還找到了另一個 ngoc quynh 的 blog，雖然讀不懂內容，但是感覺在越南，這兩種花應該是指一樣的東西。
大家都喜歡拍美好的一面，所以我貼一張去年在上梅園教堂拍的曇花照片，經過一夜大雨，花關起來也躺下了。
In Vietnam, we usually just call the last word of a friend. In the beginning, I thought it’s easier for me to just remember a word. however,I found a lot of “common word” for a name, for example, I have already known 3 Tung s(pine tree), 2 Linh s. Now, I have to ask my Vietnamese friends their full names, with correct letter and marks. Because most of the names are from the Kanji (Chinese), if I can know the original form, I can remember the name easier. Since one pronunciation stands for many Chinese characters with different meanings, I must confirm the meaning of the word to make sure I choose the right word.
The Hoa quỳnh is equal to hoa đàm in Vietnamese issue came from a beautiful and young friend, whose name is Nguyễn Ngọc Quỳnh. I just knew the “Quynh” in Chinese is a kind of “good Hgoc”, and Ngoc stands for “jade”. But she said, the Quynh is also a flower, only bloom at night, and showed me the picture from network. So I asked the super Google for the answer, and found that the Quynh flower in China is definitely another kind of flower. But in Vietname, Quynh flower is the Dam flower.
The last picture is taken last year. The Dam flowers were withered and lied after rian. People love to see beautiful side, but I like to see the truth.
